Halloween in June?

It's midsummer... so, of course, I'm thinking about skeletons and witches.
LOVE Donna Veal's wondeful skeleton pattern!
I was just asked to donate a doll to a Humane Society fundraiser auction that will happen on October 22nd, so how can I resist making something spooky? I'm sketching and thinking... rolling the ideas around.

My granddaughters joined me recently for a weekend, and we had a great time making origami crane mobiles out of old map paper and other non-traditional papers, then collaged and rubber stamped them.

I have been crocheting lots of my super-long beaded bracelet/necklaces. Just today, I had a great idea for one with all antique white shell buttons. Ordered several more spools and new colors of C-Lon thread, which I've decided I like after all, now that I've learned how to make it behave.

Meanwhile, I am doing random art journal pages just to keep my creative stream flowing.
Why, oh WHY does Blogger load my images sideways??

But... OH, I need an art vacation! And Art and Soul is too far away! Who wants to join me?

I totally understand thinking about Halloween stuff in summer ;)

Also, I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a handmade Halloween trade this year? I would love one of your spooky dolls! I would trade you for an assortment of Flapper Girl Halloween goodies—an apron, some garlands, some cupcake toppers—anything you'd like! :)

Also, we need to do lunch this summer! Shoot me an email and let me know what your summer schedule is like!

Patti,
You are such a good person to donate an artwork to the Humane Society cause. It's one that really needs our help! Do you know how many animals have to be destroyed by shelters that aren't no-kill? Millions per year!
Thanks for letting me vent.
